Royal Borough of Greenwich: Electrification Strategy

The Royal Borough of Greenwich asked DG Cities to define and develop a series of key objectives for its electric vehicle strategy. This gave us the opportunity to bring together expertise from across our team in transport planning and electric vehicles to develop an overarching strategy to meet the borough’s EV transition targets.

Our work includes understanding how we can increase the equitable availability of charging stations, as well as finding the best way to support residents in making the switch to electric vehicles. The project is also looking at ways to optimise the available grid capacity to provide charging supply to all, as well as enabling private companies to provide optimal charging infrastructure.

To develop this, DG Cities ran workshops with relevant teams internally to road-test the approach and define an operating model through which the council could operate to deliver an advanced EV strategy. The outcome is a clearly defined set of actions, covering areas such as investment, policy and regulation, that the Royal Borough of Greenwich can use to meet its objectives.
